We are always surprised when a new solicitor client ask us “do you understand the distinction between client’s monies and office monies and all that entails?” Bearing in mind the Law Society has spent considerable time and expertise in drawing up the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) which places a serious onus on accountants to ensure that not only they understand the Rules, but the very essence of these rules, which ultimately are designed to ensure that the solicitors continue to maintain their high reputation of integrity and honesty.
We are experts at providing SAR audits – more compliance work unfortunately – but we do it effectively, efficiently and at a value for money fee.
We also have a number of legal aid practices as clients. We understand their unique problems and difficulties and pressures the contracting will bring.
The experience we have built over the years, dealing with different solicitors’ practices, from small to large, enables us to provide a confident and tailor made service. In some instances, we provide a complete package – from monthly visits to write up all the books of account, to SAR, final accounts and tax planning.
